Traceability is not a slogan here; it is a set of documents that travels with the gum. From a GPS-identified collection zone in the Chadian gum belt to the container doors at Douala, every MAMO lot is accompanied by records a quality department can open, read and archive.

Collection zones, identified by GPS

Our gum comes from three regions of the Chadian gum belt — Ouaddaï, Salamat and Chari-Baguirmi. Each collection zone is recorded with its GPS coordinates, the producer groups active there and the harvest period. A zone record is opened before the first kilogram is bought, and updated at every campaign.

Zones are visited by our N’Djamena team during the harvest, from November to March. What we cannot verify on the ground, we do not put on paper.

One lot, one dossier

Every lot is numbered at sorting in N’Djamena and photographed before bagging — nodules on the sorting table, then the stencilled bags. The certificate of origin is issued against that lot number, and the laboratory analysis carries it too.

When your goods-in team opens a container, it can match what it sees to what was documented weeks earlier — photo to bag, bag to number, number to zone.

Ready for EUDR scrutiny

The EU Deforestation Regulation asks importers for geolocation and evidence that goods are deforestation-free. Gum arabic is well placed to answer: it is tapped from living acacias, and the harvest depends on the tree staying up.

Our zone records carry the coordinates; our purchasing refuses undocumented lots. We assemble the geolocation data and supporting evidence into the documentary file that travels with every container, so that your due-diligence declaration rests on records, not on assurances.

Three questions buyers ask.

Can we audit your chain?

Yes. Buyers and their auditors can visit N’Djamena and, in season, the collection zones, on reasonable notice. We plan visits between November and March, so that you see sorting and collection at work rather than an empty warehouse.

How are the zones verified?

By presence. Our N’Djamena team records the coordinates on site, keeps each zone record current at every campaign, and works with named producer groups — not with anonymous spot lots bought at the roadside.

What arrives with the container?

A complete documentary file: certificate of origin, independent analysis certificate, packing list, bill of lading, phytosanitary certificate and the EUDR geolocation annex. Nothing to chase after arrival.
